Rhododendron ‘Rustica Hybrid Red’ (Azalea Group)

The ‘Rustica’ hybrids are distinctive for their small, usually double flowers. These deciduous Azalea Group hybrids were mostly bred in the 19th century, but remain well worth growing today. Rhododendron ‘Rustica Hybrid Red’ boasts a fine display of bright red blooms in late spring and early summer, above its fresh green foliage. As summer ends, the leaves provide excellent autumn colour, delivering good seasonal interest. This Rhododendron is extremely hardy and flourishes in a sunny spot. Perfect for the edges of woodland gardens and sunny acid borders. In gardens without acid soil, they make superb container plants for the patio. Height and spread: 200cm (78”).
