Mahonia Japonica ‘Hivernant’

Mahonia japonica ‘Hivernant’is an evergreen, specimen shrub for the larger garden, or a mixed shrub border. This hardy shrub is cloaked in dark green, glossy, sharply toothed leaves which are paler underneath. Scented, lemon yellow flowers form arching racemes from November through to March. Dark purple-blue berries follow through to summer. Mahonia prefer a shady site but will tolerate sun if the soil does not dry out. Perfect for woodland gardens or as a security plant. Height and spread: 2.5m (8’).
