Armeria Caespitosa

Armeria caespitosa is a compact thrift forming a dense cushion of fine, evergreen foliage, which in late spring becomes smothered with pale pink flowers held in clusters on short stems. This charming juniper-leaved thrift makes a lovely addition to rockeries, gravel gardens, alpine troughs and containers, and being drought- and salt-tolerant, is ideally suited to coastal gardens. It can also be used as path edging or as ground cover for a free-draining, sunny spot. This RHS Award of Garden Merit winner requires virtually no maintenance –simply deadhead after flowering if you wish, though the dried flowerheads are an interesting feature in themselves!
